The proportions of the elements and their relationship to one another is an extremely fragile and delicate thing. Elements can support, change or damage each other. Failure to follow these general rules and regularities can lead to striking disharmony among the elements, which in turn can manifest itself in many physical symptoms. (Caused by massive intervention and manipulation, pollution can also be seen as a symptom. What applies to the planet also applies to human beings, as we are children of the earth.) Our way of life provides numerous possibilities for disharmony, from unsuitable diets to never-ending mental and physical stress. Without enquiring whether it has the necessary resources in reserve, we are liable to unhealthy environmental and social influences, among the many other demands we make from our bodies.

"If you want to get well, you should be prepared to forgive the things that make you sick." (Hippocrates)
